The studio

Hippocrene Design Works is an American design consultancy serving the luxury furnishing industry. For fifteen years the studio has designed upholstery, case goods, and lighting for international houses selling on the US market — original products, developed from first sketch to production-ready specification and licensed under the client’s own name.

The studio ghostwrites by design. Collections carry the brand that brings them to market; the drawing hand stays out of the frame, under standing confidentiality. The discretion rests on plain professionalism: exact documentation, efficient development, deadlines held.

Collections drawn here are represented in major showrooms across the United States and Canada, with a regular presence at High Point Market.

The Name

Ἱπποκρήνη

The horse’s spring. On Mount Helicon the hoof of Pegasus struck the rock, and the water that rose became the spring the Muses drank from. The studio took the name, and the winged horse for its mark.
